Painting can be said to have only been an enlightenment art among the Chinese. He did not paint in oil but only in gouache or glue, on canvas, vellum or rice paper, with different themes, but especially the landscape, flowers and birds with lines of great finesse. In the millenary Chinese culture, there is a centuries-old plastic concern that, being transmitted from generation to generation, brings us a purity of incredible lines in current painting. KU PING HSING is a young exponent of the thousand-year-old plastic tradition of China. His vision and conception combines the arrangement of traditional pictorial elements with a vision and resolution of today. His training with the masters of Chinese painting Hwan Chun Pi, great landscaper, Chang Teh Wan and Lin Yuh San, magnificent painters of birds and flowers, and the teachers of the most modern techniques Lee Sek Chao and Ma Pai Sui, make his works are a strange reflection of ancient China and current trends in that country. SALA CITE, aware of the great value of Ku Ping Hsing, sought his work and invited him to exhibit in Valencia, so that our painters could have a direct view of the theme, the schemes and the treatments with their resolutions, with a sample genuine oriental, pure, current and without easy compromises. It is not an easy exhibition to see, it contains its secrets and its "cuisine" but undoubtedly impregnated all of this with a loving vision of nature. RAFAEL PONS

Ku Ping-Hsing
In these Chinese landscape paintings by the gifted young painter, Ku Ping-Hsing, the traditional l realism of nature, of the visible world, is infused with poetic and lyrical qualities.
The authenticity of the oriental brush is apparent at once and the visual communication reveals the discipline and philosophy from which Chinese painting has evolved.
In this moment of minimal art, neo-realism, holography, conceptual art, these paintings exert a special kind of beauty.

Of all the art works of China, painting occupies the first place. A sense of life is communicated with every stroke of the brush. This is particularly true with landscape painting. It is a dynamic but extremely disciplined expression of the deepest rhythms of the universe as these are experienced in the Chinese soul. Chinese delight in landscape painting is something that has no parallel in any other tradition in the world . The Chinese experience has its deepest communion with the cosmic order in the full awesomeness of its grandeur.
A young painter who has already achieved a considerable reputation, Ku Ping-hsing, was born in Anhwei, China. After graduating from the Department of Fine ARts of the National Normal University in Taiwan, Republic of China, he went to Spain. For two years he pursued advanced studies at the College of Fine Arts of San Fernando University, Madrid, Spain. He is presently a lecturer at the College of Fine Arts of Salamanca University.
